Hey it's alright, I knew I came in really hot anyway. But sure, I would be a dick if I backed out after promising to talk to you.

Just as long as the fish isn't a whole raw fish I can handle it.

The station works. I'm at my apartment right now but it's pretty close to the broadcasting station. We can meet in the lobby.

[After they figure out an appropriate time and all, Maya shows up in the lobby as expected. It's an awkward feeling; her voice is more recognizable to the monsters than it is to the humans, but she can't help but feel their stares on her back when she walks. There's no point in hiding her appearance with that huge tail of hers and all, so Maya and her basket of Merain-made fish pie have to live with the horrifying reality of being known. Nevertheless she tries to maintain as peppy a demeanor as she can when she sees Phil.

She immediately bows at the waist, her mermaidy appearance somehow much more confident than her shade one despite the humility of the gesture.]

Thank you for meeting with me, Phil.

[And, straightening up, she puts her hands together as if in prayer, basket handle hanging from her elbow;]

I really appreciate it! Oh, and I brought fish. It's not whole, I promise.

[The lobby of the broadcasting tower has, frankly, seen better days. Phil has taken some efforts to get it cleaned up, but it was hard to upkeep a whole station when there were so few employees here in the first place.

He's a little shocked seeing the basket in her hands, but seems relatively grateful.]

Oh, thanks.

[He's not sure why he's surprised that she did bring him fish. She was always so nice to him before after all. Even when he's been a dick.]

It's no problem. You've been through a lot of shit lately and while I've never been good at helping people out it felt... dickish to leave you in the dust after saying that I'd lend an ear.

[As she will do anything for the joke, she smiles in amusement, even if it seems a bit tired.]

It's cool though, I'd understand either way. But! This way you get really good fish and I get to say sorry for also being a bit of a dick.

[He chuckles, rolling his eyes.]

Maybe that's why I've adjusted so fast to this place.

[You know, minus the freak out he had the past week.

He frowns slightly, suddenly feeling a little bad that he had nothing to offer in return.]

You know, I have some snacks in the break room if you want some of that shit. I'm sure Beat won't be too pissed off if there's a couple of ramen cups missing.

[Maya blinks.]

His name is really Beat?

[She kind of expects his last name to be something like "Meeup" or "Mania" or some other pun name, as is common in her canon.]

I could go for ramen! Chatting over food's always easiest, anyway.
