[A small parcel delivered by human hands is sent to Phil's place. It contains nothing but Bavanite snacks and fruits and things, though it is also delivered alongside an admittedly cheekily purchased few beers. Maya is not the hunter everyone else is and won't send human meat by human hands, but she saw Phil was still human and if anything feeds an upset heart it's real food— especially while you are still capable of eating it.

Don’t worry about it. I already talked to her soon after I realized what Elias did to me. She said there was nothing she could do.

[He sleeps with one arm curled possessively around Phil's waist. Returning from the blasted apart Kulen with only singed clothing to show for it was nothing short of a miracle, and he'd wasted no time in collecting the gifts he'd intended on giving Phil from his apartment above the bar and immediately returning to Phil's apartment to settle in and glare at anyone demanding festivity from either of them.

It's only a season if you want it to be.

The comfort of this is rudely disturbed not long after Rev's settling in for sleeping through the bright light of the day, with Mana appearing in the apartment to present them with her own gifts, Rev blearily staring at her from the nest of blankets on Phil's bed until she's gone. There's several seconds of silence before he speaks.]

...Happy Nattensfest, Ennseet.

[Phil blinks drowsily at Mana. The form intimidated him but he was much more annoyed that she disturbed his sleep after a long week. He sits up a little, grumbling under his breath as he rubs the sleep out of his eyes.]

[From out of the corner of his eyes, he sees the gift. He gingerly reaches for it and looks back at Rev, about to ask him if this was from him.

And then he sees the gift by Rev's own beside table. Nope, not from him.]

A still steaming cup of his favorite coffee, a full still warm eggs benedict breakfast spread, and a few gifts laying about. There's a joke gift of a chastity belt with a little note "please god don't actually use this", as well as a lot of sun blockers of various types. There's a note nearby as well.

"boss, figured your old bones could use a good meal once in a while instead of whatever old people mush you eat. Plus I know yer super depressed about the sun and shit so figured wed try some things out so you can be out in it without turning into a lump. They don't exactly make spf 2000 so I figured wed just smush a bunch together and make our own. In case that doesn't work there's umbrellas of diff see thru ness rain coats of the same type maybe?? something will work.

and i wont ever say this out loud and if you bring it up ill say you have dementia but i do appreciate you. its been fun.

[Depending on if Jonathan somehow ended up with Phil's address or not, the gift he receives from his ~Secret Santa~ may or may not have to be picked up via the Crowe Clinic.

As it is it is labeled clearly- `FRAGILE`- so please don't shake it.

Inside, Phil will find a frankly magnificent gingerbread house- which has definitely been cooked thoroughly with alcohol because that's just how you Did things in the Victorian Era, don't you know? What's the use of a dessert if you can't get tipsy from it!

Carefully hidden within the wrappings- both for its protection and the house's frankly- is also a thick scarf and card.]

A very happy Christmas to you Phil! It was quite wonderful to speak with you before, and I was so thrilled when I was given your name to procure a gift for. Please enjoy the gingerbread- perhaps you might take a photo before digging in? And do stay warm.

[Phil will find a small box waiting for him, meticulously wrapped and tied off with a big red bow. It smells vaguely of peppermint, and even prior to opening it, it isn't hard to work out who it might be from.

Inside is a handkerchief, neatly hand-embroidered with a big blue PC and a pattern of little suns, clouds, raindrops, and wind gusts. Beneath it, there is a simple pocket flask, filled with brandy, and a nearly written little note:]

Thank you for saving me from the pile of trash -and for trying to help me with my nerves at the photoshoot. You wouldn't have done that if you didn't understand what it is like to be that way.

I hope we can continue to be friends!

December, post bug fiasco

[Ethan's gift to Phil is as all of his others are: a semblance of normalcy. Anything else is too painful.]

[It's a nice mug in a tacky gift bag, that despite it being nice and thick rimmed somehow says ANSWERS: 2 SOLARS in black lettering (it was customized.) It’s mundane, it looks shallow. It looks like it belongs on the desk of a vaguely unpleasant co-worker. It’s the exact kind of thing you'd get from an office assigned Secret Santa. No real apparent sentiment beyond: I got you this thing.]

(Nothing about it says: “I’m so sorry about what happened to you.” Or “Elias is a fucking prick and you didn’t deserve that.” Or “I saw you break down in the museum and I've felt sad for you ever since and I’m kind of just ignoring that you’re in a cult now.”)

Forward Dated - Groundhog Day

[The vague light of dawn, and the sounds of the street outside are what finally wake Rev up. Still too early frankly, but as soon as he's awake enough to register it's the day, he's alert and upright. The alarm clock lies unplugged.. Phil's still asleep - for now. Gently, Rev runs a tender hand over his cheek. Coffee. It was something small, but it was at least making sure if he planned on heading in to the radio station (unlikely) he had a good morning. His favourite coffee, then.

He leaves the door open to the kitchen as he runs the machine, so if he wakes without Rev there he can at least tell the faerie hasn't gotten far.]

[Phil is slow to wake up. The previous night he made sure to unplug all clocks in his house so there was no chance of him being woken up by that damn alarm. He knew it was an irrational fear, he knew it was paranoia to even think it could happen, but he couldn't take that chance. The thought of waking up to that damn jingle was too much to even think about.

When he eventually does, he's immediately struck by the panic that it was Groundhog Day. He makes a weak attempt to reassure himself that "it was just another day", but he feels like he's just lying to himself.

Eventually he realizes that Rev was supposed to be here, but before he can get even more anxious about his absence, he catches a smell of freshly brewed espresso and relaxes slightly.]

Okay, I can live with spending the rest of my life sleeping up and having a decent cup of coffee made for me.

[He speaks to himself in a weak attempt at grounding his thoughts. After reaching for his pill bottle, he wearily enters his kitchen, popping a few anti anxiety pills into his mouth (frankly, way more than he should) before waving at Rev. It's clear that he's trying to look relaxed but it's clear that he's desperately trying to hold back a full out panic attack.]

Hey Rev. You're up early.

bright and early on groundhog day...evening

[Mariner knocks cheerfully on Phil's door early on Groundhog Day evening - as early as possible so she doesn't turn into a statue when heading outside (she is still grumpy about that, thank you). When he opens the door, he'll see her with the bat'leth Rev made slung over her shoulder and a devilish grin on her face.]

[Phil opens the door after about a minute, looking absolutely exhausted. Despite that he manages a smile when he sees Mariner, leaning against the door frame.]

You know that might be kind of weird considering that I'm a rat too.

Thanks, but I think I'm going to take it easy today. If you ask me tomorrow though...

[He laughs again, although this time it quickly dies down, and he looks nervous.]

But if you want to watch a movie maybe drink some scotch with me, I'd be up for that.

Beat will probably find this unusual. He's usually pretty fast to respond to these sort of messages, especially after sending Beat an increasingly worried series of texts his way.

In reality Phil noticed the text pretty soon after it popped up, but he almost immediately closes his laptop after reading what Beat had to say for himself. He's not sure if it's more because he didn't want to deal with this situation right now, or that he was being petty for Beat leaving him hanging to find a moose. That he murdered his boyfriend because he wanted to find a moose.

Either way it's a couple of hours before Phil finally replies, His texts are short and curt.]

Well, what's done is done, I guess.

It's not like I can turn back time and undo everything.

i know we haven't really talked in a while but i just wanted to apologize again for how i acted. ive had a lot of time to think about what i said and did and i do still feel badly for attacking you like that out of the blue. :( i dont want to make any excuses, but i think that rabbit thing made me a little more... emotional than usual, on top of everything else. im sorry for taking that out on you. you didnt really deserve it.

i'd like to start over, if you'd be willing to do the same. id really like for us to get to know each other better, but i can understand if youre not ready for that.
